If you are a trying to increase your consumption of tea in general, and green tea specifically to increase your antioxidants this is a good place to start. I would also suggest the Earl Grey and Irish Breakfast green teas for the same reason, more flavor. In the past I have found green tea to be a little bland. This tea has a little more flavor than most teas, and therefore is more like the standard black tea that most of us of accustomed to. Try making a pitcher of tea with half green tea and half black tea. My husband (a green tea hater) will even drink tea prepared in that half and half manner without complaint.I highly recommend this tea for those that are looking for a green tea with more flavor.
They are then layered over the tea leaves, which have previously been steamed or heated to prevent their oxidation. A Ming Dynasty (AD 1368 - 1644) creation believed to lower cholesterol and promote longevity, jasmine tea consists of Chinese green tea leaves - usually green teas from Fujian province, which is also home to the semi-fermented Oolong and smoky Lapsang Souchong - scented with jasmine flowers. Traditionally, the flowers are harvested during the day and stored in a cool place until nightfall, when they develop their full fragrance. The tea's quality is determined both by the quality of the green tea used as its base and by the effectiveness of the scenting process. Brewed, it has a delicate, silvery color and a rich fragrance reminiscent of a flower garden in bloom.
